Realizing a Dream

Remember this?

I've been traveling for the past couple of days. I went to a workshop that will help me realize the dream. You know, there really is something positive about being around people that share a common interest. The same goal. That type of positive energy and feedback is amazing.

A week or so ago, someone said to me, "Hey, what's going on with that bookstore thing? You don't really talk about it anymore."

Here are my issues with that question: (1) "bookstore thing" implies that the person doesn't really take me seriously and (2) the person believes that since I'm not talking about it, it means that it was just a passing fancy and I've moved on to something else.

This is why I don't share dreams with people.

Trust me, it's not a passing fancy but I don't see the point in talking about something everday that will not materialize for at least three years. At least not with folks who don't understand. I'm reluctant to discuss this here ... but if I don't how will I get the word out? I have to plant seeds. I have to get educated. There are a lot of things I have to do. There is so much involved. This is going to be a lot of hard work. I'm going to work harder than I have ever worked before.

I'm rambling.

But that's okay.

There is a lot that I have to do. My goal is to open a bookstore. My bookstore. Not only to open it but to keep it open. And that takes time, planning and money. So, I'm going to do my thing and I hope that you guys will come along for the ride and send me positive energy and I'll send you an invitiation to the grand opening.

This is so funny (not haha) but I was telling someone about how I wanted to own land so I could grow my own fruits and vegetables such that I could provide fresh fruits and vegetables to my family but also to food banks and shelters. This person all but laughed in my face while telling me everything that was 'wrong' with my dream. I always say be careful who you share your dreams with, everybody is not in your corner!!

Rest assure I can't wait for my invite! I can't wait to see your deam come to fruition! Go Chele!
