I just came off an extended break from blogging so maybe this will motivate me to blog more regularly. Maybe it'll inspire me to write about something that people actually care about. Maybe it'll just fill up the hours of boredom that I experience each day.

Today's topic: Tell us the story of a piece of jewelry you own. Where did it come from, and what does it mean to you?
I love my watch. For years I always received cute, dainty watches as gifts and I've always wanted something big and substantial. I don't know if I was viewed as cute and dainty by the gift-giver or what but I always see myself as big and substantial and I should have a watch to match.
During the first month of my breakup I indulged in a little retail therapy. It actually was quite a bit of retail therapy and this watch was one of the things that I purchased. For me, it means independence. It means freedom. It means I don't have to settle for cute and dainty.
All that from one simple watch.
