A Few Updates

I was disappointed by The Master. Great cast but I feel they were wasted on a story that just fell flat. It wasn’t what I expected which was a dark, inside look into cults … not so much. I wouldn’t recommend. I’m also not so thrilled with the book I’m reading. Too much profanity and I guess I just don’t get British humor. It’s funny in parts but for the most part it’s just not holding my attention.


Speaking of the Brits, have you seen Idris Elba’s show Luther on the BBC? When I heard it was nominated for four Emmys I decided to check it out on Netflix. That show is ca-razy! I love it. I think I’m on episode 6 of 10. Check it out if you get a chance.  I love Idris.

So I’m really enjoying my new phone and I honestly don’t know why I took so long to allow myself to have a “cool” phone. Now I know why people spend so much time posting, tweeting, texting, and using instagram – the phone makes it so simple.

I have to tell you about my guilty pleasure.  It's a youtube channel called hodgetwins.  I can sit and watch those fools for hours and just laugh until I am literally crying.  If you check them out you'll see why they are a "guilty pleasure".  Unless you have headphones DO NOT watch/listen at work. 

Final grades are in and I’m on the President’s List. Four classes and four A’s. Now that I’ve set this precedent there is no way I can ever get anything lower than an A and be happy. Classes start up again in two weeks and I’m taking Accounting (ACC 100) and Research and Writing (ENG 215). Thankfully, I don’t have to purchase any books this quarter. I’m borrowing the accounting book from a classmate and I already had the English books. Go me!

I’m not going to reach 100 miles this month but I will surpass my previous monthly PR by exceeding 63 miles, so yeah, that’s something. Needless to say, I will not be training for a half marathon anytime soon. Que sera sera.

I’m frustrated with my hair. I’ve been on this hair journey for close to two years and I’m just not seeing the progress that I thought I would.   First pic was taken Feb 2011, Second pic was taken Apr 2012

Once I got to shoulder length, it just stalled. 

Three weeks away from my birthday trip! And then we have the holidays to look forward to. I’m happy to say that 2012 exceeded my expectations and my expectations were pretty high in January. It was a busy, busy, busy year and I’m anticipating 2013 the way a kid anticipates Christmas. What is going to happen? What does God have in store for me? What big dream is He going to place in my heart to pursue?

Oh well. Just have to wait and see.
