Be Happy

I'm busy.

Not a bad thing, just an observation.

I celebrated my one-year anniversary at my job. There was no actual celebration, but I'm into anniversaries so I did take note of the date. I reviewed my performance evaluation with my manager and it seems that he thinks more of me than I think of myself. Hmph. Trust me, I don't have esteem issues but I think the fact that he's only worked here for two and a half months may have something to do with it. He hasn't seen me storm out of a room or roll my eyes in a meeting. My increase was fair although it was nothing to write home about. My boss's boss asked me this morning if I wanted to take a $6,000 course to further my career. I told him I'd think about it. Would it be fair to spend the company's money when my ultimate goal is to ditch this nine-to-five to do what I love? On the other hand, the completion of this course is one helluva credential to have ...

Speaking of anniversaries, I will actually be celebrating five years with my beloved. No mushy stuff, but we are in such a good place right now. We understand each other, we consider each other and we are actually behaving like partners instead of competitors. I love him so much. As a gift I'm taking him to this place to see this guy. He's pretty excited and I think it will be a good time.

Reisling month is winding down and I think July is devoted to Chardonnay. I think I may just devote July to Grey Goose instead.

I bought an exercise machine at an auction last weekend. It's one of these machines that simulates climbing stairs ... a stepper? Anyway, my calves are killing me! I hate to exercise and I just bought the thing because it was relatively inexpensive and for a good cause, and because I live such a sedentary life ... I need to get my body moving.

Take the course. I mean...you still working right...so might as well soak up all it has to offer until you go writing fulltime.

I'm losing weight...but because I am not doing anything...it's all saggy...and it's not like I lost mad weight...just 5 punds...lol

Grey Goose month is sort of awesome...just sayin.

GIRL! We were in a staff meeting 2 weeks ago and my boss told me that she had gotten the word that the company would pay for the accountants to get their CPA designation and for me to get my CFA. Before my brain processed it I laughed out loud. LOL

Take the course because whether you leave or stay, it's a credential that you'll have under your belt.

Congrats on the 5 year mark and I pray you'll have many more.

LOL@ your drink switching...reminds me of me with my alcohol cycles.

Love!

Congrats on five years, Oldgirl!

Let me tell you what I did. I'd accepted my current job on the sly some 7 years ago, but didn't tell the head people on the old job. A class came up where I could learn some new equipment. I was in New Orleans, and it was an all day hands on gig in Baton Rouge.

I drove up to that training thinking "Shoot, I may need this on my new job. Let me be SURE to take good notes and ask plenty questions."

It's called the bootleg. Nothing wrong with it. It was a credential, and went right up on my CV. Yep. Once you leave that job, that credential walks right out the door with you. Sure does.

Congrats on that 5 year anniversary. Here's to many more.

And I want to know when Boone's Farm month is...

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the anniversaries!

Taking the course would not have been my initial vote, but after reading what these savvy ladies share...they're right! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

5 years with your man is something to shout about. He's a keeper!
