Ugly Days vs. Pretty Days

Ever have an ugly day? Yesterday was an ugly day. In fact, yesterday could best be described as a butt-ugly day. Not only did I look ugly but all my circumstances were just … ugly. I couldn’t get my hair to do anything because it needs to be washed. The lipstick that I was wearing did nothing for my face. I had on a cute suit but was wearing the wrong shoes. And for some reason, there is this chick at the job who constantly feels the need to “stick it to me”. Know what I mean? Thankfully, I’m in the middle of studying humility and she was the least of my worries. When I got home I made dinner and proceeded to ruin it so I bought a large pepperoni, mushroom and sausage pizza and ate two greasy slices of it. Then I went to my life group meeting where we were celebrating someone’s birthday with carrot cake and ice cream. After the pizza, I just said, “What the heck?” The damage had already been done. By the time I got back home all I could do was go to bed and pray for a better tomorrow.

Today? Today on the other hand is going to be a pretty day. My shoes are perfect with my outfit. I dug out a lovely lip gloss and I threw a few curls in my hair so the cute has returned! I packed a salad, yogurt, banana, two clementines and two bottles of water for lunch. While I was eating breakfast (Special K Redberries with 2% milk) something told me to check my bank account. Why? It’s the middle of the month and I don’t get paid until the end of the month. What am I checking for? Just check it. So I log onto the bank website and there it is: a pending deposit equal to the amount of my tax refund. Yeah, baby! I didn’t think that would show up until next month.

It’s only 8:00 and I’m already having a better day than yesterday. Isn’t that funny how that happens? I totally understand why they say never to make a decision when you’re all emotional and too into your feelings. Some time has passed and I no longer feel like shaving my head, punching anybody or getting liposuction.

Ain’t life grand? Here's to the pretty days!

Isn't it great to know that there's always tomorrow when we have those ugly days? I understand the not making emotional decisions too, I just don't always adhere to it. LOL

Thanks, I really need to hear that there are sun shiney days after the rainy ones.

Yes, I definitely give myself a day or so when I'm having life sucks days. I'm glad you didn't hurt anybody or go for the nip-tuck. LOL.
