I'm a Pear
I took a really good look at my naked image in the mirror last night and I have come to the realization that I am a pear.
A pear.
Pears are okay. Not my favorite fruit but they’ll do in a pinch. But I think I’d rather be an hourglass.
I've spent the last year running for better cardiovascular health, and I've increased my endurance and I just feel better ... but in the process I have turned myself in to a pear.
I have work to do. This year I have got to incorporate consistent strength training into my fitness regimen and I have got to be more diligent about my diet.
I've been convincing myself that as long as I don't gain weight than I'm okay. And that's true, I've been the same weight for the last year. I've lost inches in my waist and found them in my butt and thighs and yet the scale never moves.
I don't look bad but I want my shape to be more balanced. The goal is to strengthen my upper body and core, which, by the way, will improve my speed. I have got to do this. I do not want to pay for a trainer but I'm not sure I can accomplish this on my own. On the other hand, I trained alone for my first race and was successful. I can do this if I would only get serious about it.
Maybe if I put pictures of pears all over my house I would get motivated.

I am going to be doing more core work, too.
I'm going to just do more work period...cardio, core, portion control...all of that. I'm an hourglass but it's overextended at the top and bottom.
Oh, Chele!! :D You DO look great, but I hear what you're saying. Keep in mind, with the upper body workout, to do the right chest exercises (i.e. if you must bench press, do it on a steep incline), otherwise you risk reducing the boobies. Check out bodyrock.tv for some exercises and I found this article too -> http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/best-workout-for-a-pear-shaped-body. Have a great day, you beautiful pear you!
