The Killas

So when I told my manager that I was going back to school and asked him to approve my request for tuition assistance he said:

"Good for you! I'll sign this right now. I'm not sure that a degree will really matter. I mean, look at all you've done."

If you're not careful someone will come in and kill your dream before you can even get it out of your mouth.

Now, I'm sure that he didn't mean anything by what he said. He probably actually believed that he was complimenting me. **eyeroll**

In the meantime, I took my math placement test today and scored 103. I only needed 65.

Oh, it'll matter my friend. It will definitely matter.

I can't stand when people try to apply THEIR limited thinking to MY life. Antyhoo...

Good luck with school! I have no idea what you're going to study, but I envision you owning a book store and writing another book. Come on Chele, make it happen!

If you had come into my office and said the same thing I would have congratulated you and applauded your decision; and by the way, I've participated in many conversations just like that.

So....the same thing happened to me today. I took what I considered to be a big leap and somebody questioned my decision and poked holes in my plan. The end result was me telling myself "You have to be your own cheerleader."

Hear that Chele....cheerlead for you! Plus we all know you're going to rock out in school anyway.

Congrats on your high math score!!! Sometimes you do have to overlook stuff like that - backhanded compliments and congratulations, buts. Here's to kicking collegiate butt!!!
