Monday Monday

I wish I were in a better mood.

It all started on Friday afternoon. I was all set to leave work early but ended up staying two hours later than normal. And I had to work over the weekend as well. And I don’t get overtime.

My daughter’s school tried to contact me on Friday but I was in a training class and didn’t have my phone. They called her father instead and let him know that she had been involved in a physical altercation at school. According to her, some girl got in her face about some nonsense and then slapped my child. Who, in turn, hit her back. I met with the Asst. Principal this morning and it seems all parties will be enjoying a 5-day suspension. So, not only did I have to deal with that but I also had to deal with my ex-husband. Which I do not enjoy doing.

I re-started my strength training this weekend and I am hurting. In a good way. On Saturday I worked my abs and lats. On Sunday I worked biceps and triceps. I did cardio on both days.

The one good thing about going vegetarian this month: I don’t have to thaw anything out during the day. I like that. As my last meal as a meat-eater I made a delicious pork tenderloin with onions, garlic and tomatoes and served it with pasta and asparagus. Good Lord that food was good! There are leftovers, so the kids can have that tonight while I make enchiladas.

Ravenswood Cabernet is the bomb.

I’m fighting with my s/o because he is acting like a dick.

We (me and the kids) went to see Shutter Island on Saturday night and I was not at all impressed. First of all, we arrived at 6:50 for the 7:20 show and it was sold out, so we had to wait around and see the 9:35 show. We hung out in the mall and people watched. Anyway, the movie itself was too long and extremely slow in the beginning. And kind of predictable. I fell asleep several times.

I’m having a new roof put on my house. I gave the guy the deposit last week. Roofs are expensive. I got four estimates and the guy I chose was the least expensive and he received an A+ rating from the BBB.

I took the gift card that I won over at the House of Ladylee and put it towards my very first iPod. Isn’t that funny? It’s 2010 and I’m just now getting around to buying an iPod. It’s a shuffle, at that – only $55 but it holds like 500 songs. I probably don’t know 500 songs. I spent a good amount of time this weekend downloading music. I bought Janet Jackson’ #1’s and Robin Thicke’s new CD. I love Robin Thicke. Love, love, LOVE him.

I had Campbell’s V8 golden butternut squash soup for lunch and it was really tasty.

The sun is shining and I know that Spring is just around the corner. That makes me smile.

Hope things get better in March. Hard sigh.

You make me want to join a gym, man. Really. You keep talking about it, and I probably will.

I have an IPOD shuffle. I've had it for 2 years. I LOVE that thing. I have 200 songs on mine. That's enough to do whatever. And you can convert all the music on your computer into Itune mp3s and put it on the IPOD. That works out really well.

LOL @ your last meat before Meatless March being pork. I thought you'd at least kick the fried chicken, Oldgirl!!

When I got my mp3, I was certain that I would never fill it up. Well fast forward a couple of years or so, and I'm deciding which songs have to go to make room for a couple of new albums.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's incident at school and stuff, but glad to see that things are going well for ya on the workout front.

Ravenswood Cabernet. Check.
