Back to Business

I have been asked to facilitate a meeting next week. Let’s put aside the fact that I hate meetings. But if we have to scrounge for agenda topics, why are we having a meeting? Just because it’s our standard monthly meeting? That, my dear colleagues, is what I call a waste of time.

This is one of the major reasons why within the next 3-5 years I will be a successful business owner instead of an employee. And I will promise my employees that I will never have an unnecessary meeting. Ever.

oh I agree with you - pointless meetings are the worst! i'm the terrible employee, playing on my blackberry during those meetings.

I think that some people are meeting junkies. They are addicted to looking at the faces of bored and frustrated people.

I like one-on-one meetings. My boss knows how I do group meetings: "Whelp! Let me go get my puzzles together, my journal, some pages of fiction to edit!" I disappear into my own world for an hour of time. I love it! lol

But I'd throw myself out the window if I have to pay attention. Boo @ unnecessary meetings!

Someone read or heard somewhere that this boosts morale. ;)
