Hats for the Homeless

Summer is over and before you know it the weather will start to turn cold.  After the sweltering summer we experienced you may not be thinking about bundling up but now is the time to do just that.

On a single night in January 2015, 564,708 people were experiencing homelessness — meaning they were sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or transitional housing program.  It's hard for me to wrap my head around that number.

I'd like to do something to help.

Last year I started making and donating hats to benefit the homeless in my community.  It's a small thing but I'd like to think that it helps. My goal this year is to provide 100 hats to the Union Mission before Christmas.  Would you consider helping by simply donating 1 skein of yarn?

You can contact me at coaching@michelematthews.com for more information on how you can help.

Thanks,
Michele
