Meet Me on Monday

This is a blog hop. It's a great way to get to know people and for people to get to know you. Hop over to Java's and get started!
Here are the questions:
1. What jewelry do you wear 24/7?
2. Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?
3. How many siblings do you have?
4. Were you named after anyone?
5. Coke or Pepsi?
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. What jewelry do you wear 24/7? None. Every morning I put on my watch, earrings and rings. Maybe a necklace and a bracelet. Every evening, everything comes off. When I'm in my home, I like to be as unencumbered as possible ... no jewelry, no shoes, no bra, etc.
2. Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it? Twirl it, baby. I think cutting spaghetti is blasphemous.

3. How many siblings do you have? Well, I grew up with six siblings: four brothers and two sisters. However, when I became an adult I discovered that I have at least 8 more siblings. It's a really long story ... remind me to tell you about it one day.
4. Were you named after anyone? Not to my knowledge.
5. Coke or Pepsi? Neither. I gave up soft drinks years ago. When I did drink them I was definitely a Coke lover. Definitely.

Meet Me on Monday

This is a blog hop which gives each of us an opportunity to get to know each other a little better. So hop on over to Java's, get the questions, and post the answers on your blog. Here we go:
Questions:
1. Do you have a fireplace in your home?
2. Can you drive a stick shift?
3. How many computers are in your home?
4. Are your taxes done yet? Do you do them yourself?
5. What is your favorite meal of the day?
---------------------------------------------------------------
My Answers!
1. Do you have a fireplace in your home? I sure do. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I use it every winter. It doesn't produce any heat but I just love the look and feel of a good fire:

2. Can you drive a stick shift? No I cannot. It's a shame really. I'm in my late forties and I can't drive a car with a standard transmission. Most people my age learned on a stick. I remember once an ex-boyfriend tried to teach me and got so frustrated with me that he couldn't continue.
3. How many computers are in your home? Two. The family computer and my son's laptop.
4. Are your taxes done yet? Do you do them yourself? They are done and I do them myself. Usually, I file electronically and have a refund before the end of February. This year, since the tax laws changed I couldn't file until later and because of some system glitch, I had to file by mail. God only knows when I'll have my money!
5. What is my favorite meal of the day? Dinner. Breakfast and lunch are usually the same thing with no deviation but at dinner time I can get creative.

Meet Me on Monday
So let's get started!

Meet me on Monday is sponsored by Java. And it's a blog hop which is a fun way to get to know the people whose blogs you've been reading, or to meet new people to add to your blog roll. Java lists 5 questions and you answer them and link up with everyone else who has answered them. It's that simple. Here are this week's questions:
Questions:
1. What is your favorite way to eat potatoes?
2. What was the last package that was delivered to your house?
3. What is your favorite scent that you love to smell?
4. Do you smoke?
5. Are your parents married or divorced?
---------------------------------------------------------------
My Answers:
1. What is your favorite way to eat potatoes? Growing up I hated potatoes except for french fries. My dad would make boiled potatoes every night and I would gag when trying to eat them. Now that I'm older I really do like all kinds but I think my favorite kind are cheesy scalloped potatoes.
2. What was the last package that was delivered to your house? I believe it was a copy of the The Old Man and The Sea that I bought for my daughter.

Meet Me on Monday

Questions:
1. Did you get any Valentine's Gifts?
2. What is your favorite topping on something toasted?
3. Do you pick out your outfit the night before?
4. What food item do you absolutely despise?
5. Righty or lefty?
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. Did you get any Valentine's Gifts? Nope.
2. What is your favorite topping on something toasted? Grilled steak, cheese, onions, mushrooms and hot peppers. Yum!
3. Do you pick out your outfit the night before? I pick it out in my head but I don't actually take it out of the closet and lay it out.
4. What food item do you absolutely despise? Lima beans! Why would anyone put a lima bean in their mouth? That is the grossest thing that exists on the planet today. I remember when I was kid and my mother would fix lima beans. Gross!! And I couldn't leave the table until I ate them. Gag. I learned how to eat them by wrapping them up in bread and chewing really fast. I could still taste them though and the thought of it even now gives me the dry heaves.
5. Right or Lefty? I'm right handed. My mom is ambidextrous. How cool is that?

Here are the questions:
Questions:
1. Did you watch the Superbowl?
2. What is the last book that you read?
3. What is your favorite kind of cake?
4. Do you snore?
5. Do you play an instrument?
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. Did you watch the Superbowl? I sure did. I am not a football fan by any stretch of the imagaination. In fact, this is the only game I watch all year. It is the Super Bowl after all. I also love football movies like Friday Night Lights and Any Given Sunday. I don't know why. Last night's game was very exciting I think I tweeted and updated FB during the entire game. It was like watching it with a bunch of friends.
2. What is the last book you read? I think the last book I completed is this month's book club pick:

I enjoyed this memoir about the author's escape from a very unstable, poor upbringing.
3. What is my favorite kind of cake? Cheesecake. Hands down. No question.

4. Do you snore? Not that I'm aware of.
5. Do you play an instrument? Sadly, I do not. I've always wanted to learn to play the piano. I even tried once, read about that fiasco here. I guess it just wasn't in the cards for me.

Questions:
1. What is your favorite kind of fudge?
2. Is there snow outside your window?
3. What is your favorite meal of the day?
4. Do you text on your cell phone?
5. Waffles or pancakes?

2. Is there snow outside your window? No. Not one single flake.

3. What is your favorite meal of the day? I'd have to say dinner. Breakfast is ususally cereal or something boring like that. Lunch is usually something from Healthy Choice or a can of soup. But at dinner time I get to be creative. I always wake up planning dinner. I'm pretty sure I'm eating out tonight!
4. Do you text on your cell phone? Very rarely. I most often text with the kids because that's what kids do. I'd rather not text.
5. Waffles or pancakes? Pancakes all day long.
Have a great week!

2. Do you watch commercials or flip through the channels?
3. How long will you leave your Christmas decorations up?
4. What movie makes you cry every time you watch it?
5. Do you have a Facebook?
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. What will your Christmas dinner consist of? I'm taking requests. I don't generally do a huge Christmas dinner like I do for Thanksgiving. The Prince wants a seafood casserole and the Princess wants a ham.
2. Do you watch commercials or flip through the channels? Neither. During the commercials I either pick up a book or leave the room. I hate commercials. I think that's why I watch so many movies -- no commercial interruptions. I started this post during a commercial break.
3. How long will you leave your Christmas decorations up? They are coming down the day after. I may take them down Christmas morning after the presents are opened.
4. What movie makes you cry everytime you watch it? I've cried over plenty of movies but I can't think of one that makes me cry every single time I watch it. I guess, The Pursuit of Happyness -- even though I've only been able to watch it twice.
5. Do you have a Facebook? Yes I do.

4. When is the last time you wore a dress (for the guys...a suit)?
5. Do you have any trips scheduled?
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. How do you order your steak? I never order steak when I eat out. I did make one at home last night. I was going for medium-rare but it was actually medium.

2. What size is your bed?
3. What is your most overused phrase?
4. Green or purple grapes?
5. Shower, morning or night?
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. What is your favorite kind of cheese? I don't think I've met a cheese that I didn't love. My favorite depends on the situation. I ususally munch on havarti when I'm sipping on wine. I use cheddar when I make macaroni and cheese. I love a ton of ricotta in my lasagne. Spaghetti is not spaghetti without parmesan. Whenever I order a sub I get provolone. I love cheese.
2. What size is your bed? Queen for the queen.
3. What is your most overused phrase? I say "Really? Really?" pretty often. When translated it actually means: "You're really going to stick with that answer? Are you sure you don't want to reconsider?"
4. Green or purple grapes? I love green grapes.
5. Shower, morning or night? Definitely in the morning. A good hot shower is the best way for me to start my day.

3. How often do you talk to your Mom?
4. What TV shows do you watch on a regular basis?

3. How often do you talk to your mom? Probably once a week.
4. What TV shows do you watch on a regular basis? Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family

2. Have you ever ran out of gas in the car you were driving?
3. How many languages do you speak?
4. Do you take daily vitamins?
5. What is your worst eating habit?
*******************************************
What is your favorite kind of pie? Sweet potato. It's my favorite because it's the only pie I can make without a recipe and it comes out perfectly every time. I only make it on Thanksgiving and it's always a hit.

Have you ever ran out of gas in the car you were driving? I am so embarrassed to say "yes" to this one. It was many, many years ago when this happened and when I got to work and told my co-worker about it she asked me if my gas gauge was broken. When I said "no" she said, "Is your brain?"

How many languages do you speak? I only speak English. I took three years of Spanish in school and I can understand it a little. My first husband was Hispanic and I thought I'd learn Spanish then, but that fool couldn't speak a lick.
Do you take daily vitamins? I take iron, vitamin C and vitamin D everyday.
What is your worst eating habit? My worst eating habit is probably that I eat when I'm not hungry. I often mistake boredom for hunger. I really need to get that together.

2. What is your favorite way to eat eggs?
3. What is your favorite reading material?
4. Name all the pets that you have ever had?
5. Were you ever a girl/boy scout?
**************************************
In a basket. I love making these eggs! Just cut a hole in the middle of your bread, butter the bread and place it on the skillet, crack the eggs into the hole, flip once and viola! Eggs in a basket.
which is about young women who were forced to give their children up for adoption prior to Roe v. Wade.
4. Name all the pets that you have ever had. I can't name all the pets that I've ever had because I don't remember them all. When I was a kid I remember we had a dog that got hit by a car. Before that, we had 5 cats and as I recall, I came home from school one day on my birthday to find that they had been given away. As an adult I had one cat named Smokey. I wanted Smokey because I actually wanted to have another baby but couldn't say that out loud so I got a cat. When I bought my house eight years ago, Smokey didn't make the move. I guess, I'm not really a pet person.
5. Were you ever a girl/boy scout? No, but I'm addicted to girl scout cookies.

Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" Questions:
1. Do you sleep with a night light on?
A night light? Really? What am I 7? Just kidding. No, I need for it to be very dark in my room. I remember when I was a kid and I shared a room with my little sister and we would fight over whether the light would stay on or off.
2. What do you drink with dinner?
It depends. It's usually water but sometimes I'll indulge and have a glass of red wine.
3. Do you play the lottery? If so, how often?
I've played the lottery on a whim but never on a regular basis
4. How often do you go to the grocery store?
Every Friday after work.
5. Would you rather travel back in time 500 years or travel forward 500 years?
500 years in the future. Definitely.

Questions:
1. How many TV’s do you have in your home?
2. What is on your bedside table?
3. How many pair of shoes do you own?
4. Can you change a flat tire?
5. Do you like sweet treats or salty treats?
My Answers:
1. How many TV's do you have in your home? Four. One in each bedroom and one in the living room.
2. What is on your bedside table?
3. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
5. Do you like sweet treats or salty treats? It depends on what time of the month it is. Usually, sweet. I love to combine the two. My favorite is to pop a bag of popcorn and dump a bag of M&Ms into it. The combination of the salty popcorn and the sweet melted chocolate inside the candy shell is crazy!
